Free Will and Neuroscience
In this course, we will discuss free will from a neuroscientific perspective. Module one of the course will explore two neuroscientific arguments against free will from Libet and Wegner and evaluate neuroscientists’ arguments against free will. You will also examine where these experiments do not succeed in debunking free will. In module two, the anatomy and physiology of neurons will be described. You will also learn how they communicate. You will have an understanding about neural anatomy and physiology to consciousness, attention, and free will. In the final and the third module of the course, you will explore an example of the top-down influence on bottom-up processing called volitional attention. You will see how neural circuits responsible for both volitional and non-volitional thought and action interact with each other. Next, you will learn how a neural circuit can change its physical structure and function, and how these changes might impact human behavior.

In the second phase, you’ll explore fluid simulations, learning to create fire VFX and control properties like heat and smoke density using the Niagara fluid system. You’ll also work on complex atmospheric setups, including volumetric fog, cloud formations, and a dynamic sky that responds to your lighting setup. As your environment comes together, you’ll add organic elements like animated birds and fireflies, enhancing the visual storytelling in your scene. Finally, you’ll focus on the final touches needed to complete your projects. This includes color grading using post-process effects, camera composition for cinematic shots, and rendering your environment for final output. By the end, you'll have a complete project showcasing fluid VFX, organic animations, and a highly detailed, visually striking 3D world ready for professional presentations. This course is aimed at advanced Unreal Engine 5 users, visual effects artists, and game developers. A solid understanding of UE5 basics and asset manipulation is required, as well as some familiarity with particle systems.
COVID-19 Contact Tracing
The COVID-19 crisis has created an unprecedented need for contact tracing across the country, requiring thousands of people to learn key skills quickly. The job qualifications for contact tracing positions differ throughout the country and the world, with some new positions open to individuals with a high school diploma or equivalent. In this introductory course, students will learn about the science of SARS-CoV-2 , including the infectious period, the clinical presentation of COVID-19, and the evidence for how SARS-CoV-2 is transmitted from person-to-person and why contact tracing can be such an effective public health intervention. Students will learn about how contact tracing is done, including how to build rapport with cases, identify their contacts, and support both cases and their contacts to stop transmission in their communities. The course will also cover several important ethical considerations around contact tracing, isolation, and quarantine. Finally, the course will identify some of the most common barriers to contact tracing efforts -- along with strategies to overcome them.

Arm
Armv8-M Architecture Fundamentals
The course includes fundamental architecture topics that are key to understanding how any Cortex-M processor functions internally. The course focuses specifically on the Armv8-M version of the Arm Architecture, which processors like the Cortex-M33 and Cortex-M55 are based on. However, even if you're working with older processors based on earlier versions of the architecture, like Armv6-M or Armv7-M, a lot of the information is mostly still very relevant and useful.

Digital tools, Automation, & AI for Project Managers
e.g. This is primarily aimed at first- and second-year undergraduates interested in engineering or science, along with high school students and professionals with an interest in programming.Digital tools can either make project work smoother—or multiply chaos. In this course, you’ll learn how to design clean, async-first workflows that help teams move faster with fewer meetings, clearer ownership, and better visibility. You’ll start by building strong documentation habits: establishing a single source of truth, using simple templates, and organizing a lightweight knowledge base that stays searchable and up to date. Next, you’ll design practical “flow in tools” systems: structured intake and triage, decision logs that prevent rework, and embedded ownership practices (like RACI) inside the tools your team already uses. You’ll then learn how to apply automation safely—using triggers and actions to reduce manual coordination—plus how to build dashboards that support the right decisions for teams, PMs, and stakeholders. Finally, you’ll apply AI in realistic PM work: generating first-draft plans and work breakdowns, drafting clearer status updates and stakeholder communication, and scanning project artifacts for risks and improvement opportunities—with guardrails for privacy and human oversight. You’ll leave with reusable templates, prompt patterns, and governance rules you can apply immediately.
