Building Your First AI Agent with OpenAI Coursera

Building Your First AI Agent with OpenAI

The Building Your First AI Agent with OpenAI course provides a practical introduction to creating intelligent, tool-using AI agents. Learners begin by understanding the key differences between reactive chatbots and proactive agents, mapping out the five core components of agentic architecture. The course then explores the OpenAI Responses API, GPT-4/5 models, and built-in tools such as browser, code interpreter, and file search, showing how they extend agent capabilities for real-world tasks. Through guided lessons, learners configure secure API access, manage tokens and costs, and design system prompts that define agent behavior. They also add reasoning patterns like chain-of-thought and reflection to improve reliability, before integrating multiple tools into a unified agent system. Hands-on projects, including building a technical support agent, reinforce skills in architecture design, tool integration, and performance optimization. By the end, learners will have built a fully functioning AI agent capable of handling complex multi-step tasks and decision-making with autonomy and reliability.

Sustainability Leadership Development University of Michigan

Sustainability Leadership Development

How organizations and society respond to declines in environmental and social capital is the defining issue of our times. “Sustainability Leadership” explores and analyzes the concepts and application of leadership to empower you to be a positive change agent during this critical time. This course prepares current and future sustainability professionals to tackle “wicked problems” — challenges that are difficult to solve due to incomplete, contradictory, or changing information and that stem from simultaneously addressing environmental and interrelated social and economic issues. This requires a rethinking of how people and organizations exert leadership. Each module will explore how power structures, social justice, and equity impact organizations and how leaders can utilize ethics and values to set and achieve goals. You'll learn to apply sustainability leadership to real-world situations through lectures, conversations with key leaders, case studies, self-assessments, readings, videos, and podcasts. By the end of the course, you’ll draft a personalized action plan that can help begin or advance your career in sustainability and provide a sound basis to start transforming your organization for good. This is the third course in “Green Skills for a Sustainable and Just Future," a course series dedicated to shaping the next generation of sustainable practices and leadership.

Develop and Evaluate LLM Features Effectively Coursera

Develop and Evaluate LLM Features Effectively

Develop and Evaluate LLM Features Effectively is an intermediate course designed for product managers, QA professionals, and developers working on AI-powered features. This course teaches you how to prevent common LLM failures—like providing illegal advice or having bizarre conversations—by implementing professional product management practices. You will learn to create a Product Requirements Document (PRD), establishing a single source of truth that defines scope, MVP features, and success metrics for an LLM product. You will then shift from planning to validation, learning to build and execute a User Acceptance Testing (UAT) plan based on testable user stories. Through hands-on activities, you will draft a PRD for an HR chatbot and test a simulated feature for functional gaps and dangerous edge cases. By the end of this course, you will be able to ensure that the features you build are not only technically sound but also safe, effective, and aligned with your original vision.

Mathematics for Machine Learning: PCA Imperial College London

Mathematics for Machine Learning: PCA

This intermediate-level course introduces the mathematical foundations to derive Principal Component Analysis (PCA), a fundamental dimensionality reduction technique. We'll cover some basic statistics of data sets, such as mean values and variances, we'll compute distances and angles between vectors using inner products and derive orthogonal projections of data onto lower-dimensional subspaces. Using all these tools, we'll then derive PCA as a method that minimizes the average squared reconstruction error between data points and their reconstruction. At the end of this course, you'll be familiar with important mathematical concepts and you can implement PCA all by yourself. If you’re struggling, you'll find a set of jupyter notebooks that will allow you to explore properties of the techniques and walk you through what you need to do to get on track. If you are already an expert, this course may refresh some of your knowledge. The lectures, examples and exercises require: 1. Some ability of abstract thinking 2. Good background in linear algebra (e.g., matrix and vector algebra, linear independence, basis) 3. Basic background in multivariate calculus (e.g., partial derivatives, basic optimization) 4. Basic knowledge in python programming and numpy Disclaimer: This course is substantially more abstract and requires more programming than the other two courses of the specialization. However, this type of abstract thinking, algebraic manipulation and programming is necessary if you want to understand and develop machine learning algorithms.
